What are linkage codes?
Linkage codes (also called linkage keys) are 3 codes that are used to provide you with secure access to your medical record.
How do I get my linkage codes?
You will need to contact your GP practice and ask for access to online services. You will also need to state that you would like them to send you your 3 linkage keys. This can be done by phoning or emailing your practice.
Once you have done this, your practice should send you a letter with your codes. This will be:
- Linkage key
- ODS code
- Account ID
To ensure you are able to access as much of your record as possible, it's also helpful to ask your GP to enable your detailed coded record for allergies, medication, laboratory test results, immunisations and problems.
If you have access online services previously, such as repeat prescription ordering online, you may already have been given these codes. If you have Patient Access, you can find your codes in the account settings page or the app.
